so awesome, but can it talk? Mario’s does

Nitpick: It isn’t “water powered.” It’s powered by electricity or gas, or whatever is driving the turbo pump the hose is attached to.
That said, I think it is pretty cool. Right out of Mario Sunshine.

That defenetely looks like a lot of fun.

waste of water?

jane
It’s not a waste of water if the water is the same going in as it is coming out. It would be a waste if they used “filtered” tap water that otherwise be used to clean or ingest.
This thing wont take you far with that yellow hose used to suck all that water….
And good thing it’s over water cause you could just crash with not as much pain than on ground.

awesome, that’s something i would wanna get.@ marush mahti, you could loose your foot, but i dont think anybody is stupid enough to put it in the jet stream.

75 % of our planet is water. What can you do with this idea? Cross the sea in the future for example?

It makes more sense than a jet ski. At least this thing is three dimensional! I’m moving to the ocean and could definitely use one.

The hose is attached to the device that pumps the water through it. That device is not tethered and is pulled along behind the person wearing the jet pack.

“You can go almost anywhere… well, as long as your near water… and the hose can stretch that far…”

It needs a constant column of water that’s being shot out with high pressure.
Crossing bodies of water? I’ve seen conventional ideas with a twist which will work better (I’ve seen a boat which was elevated over water by it’s pontoons ,which could ride the waves. It could also be powered by solar energy. I think that’s more practical Dirk.)
Also you need sufficient energy at all times to power the pump at the right rpm, the motor should also be something like the ones used in jet skis

It requires great thrust to push a heavy person that high… must be pain to have ur legs on the water pump… great invention anyway! Looks fun too! Would certainly try it!

What about the fish? would the suction drawing in all this water also draw in fish? killing the fish and possibly killing you too?

Something the person left out in this article, and something you people are commenting about, the hose has no max limit.
A little cruiser with the engine follows you and is drawn by the hose wherever you go on the water.
