Inspired by childhood books and modern superheroes, Jan von Holleben created a series of photographs that make nostalgic dreams come true.
Jan brings the influences of his parents – a cinematographer and child therapist – to his work. His focus on the visual representation of childhood, ‘Child-History’ and concepts of ‘Playing’, come from his time spent on a teacher training course and he combines these theories with his personal experience and childhood memories.

Aww, these are really cute. A few of them just look obviously taken of kids lying on the ground, but most of them definitely have that magical effect the photographer was going for. They pictures are sort of like a storybook. Very creative, very cute, and sort of nostalgic in a way.

Aww, my favourite is definetely #16, cos the older boy is helping the smaller boy, and there is a sense of sweet, cute trust between them. Awwwwhh.
